Do you have physical, mental or emotional wounds that are holding you back from living your fullest life, and being the best version of you?
Have you tried it all…yoga, the gym, running, couples therapy, massage, physiotherapy, Netflix binges, talking to anyone that listens, duvet days, self-help books, retreats?
Thinking that perhaps you will have a breakthrough, and it hasn’t happened yet….
Are you open-minded and want to try something new?
Reiki. Perhaps you have heard this word before but have no idea what it actually means, or have questioned…is Reiki real?
Let me break it down.
Reiki is a Japanese word made up of two parts:
Rei – translates as ‘universal’
Ki – energy (specifically the life force energy that flows through all living things)
Ki (lifeforce energy) is within you and is essential for human health and wellbeing. It runs through an internal network in the body, a bit like a roadmap. And like roads, sometimes there are roadblocks and energy cannot move freely around the network. This can lead to disease, mental and emotional blockages that have a profound effect on our energy levels and our overall wellbeing.
Reiki (or ‘universal life-force energy’) is a transformer of energy. It activates all the major energy centres in the body (the chakras) and when it enters the body, it goes where it needs to go to bring about transformation and healing for the patient.
The practitioner lays their hands over your body in various places. Sometimes this is hands on and sometimes hands off. The reiki energy moves through the practitioner’s hands and into your energy body. From this point, your body’s energy network does the rest. The energy just goes where it needs to go to clear the blockages.
How does the practitioner have access to this ‘reiki energy?
The practitioner giving the reiki treatment has been ‘attuned’ to be able to transmit reiki energy through their hands. Through the attunement process, a qualified reiki teacher passes on formulas and exceptionally high vibrations to the new practitioner. This gives the practitioner the unique ability to transmit the reiki energy permanently.
For this reason, Reiki cannot be learned from a book or online.
Anyone who…
– is suffering from chronic fatigue
– wants to relieve arthritis, rheumatiuc aches and other bodily pains
– wants to mend broken bones (twice as fast)
– has open sores, cuts or wounds
– wants to prevent major health issues
– requires more inner peace and harmony
– needs extra energy for their daily activities
– is undergoing other medical treatments and would like a secondary, complementary treatment
– needs a pick-me-up treatment
I remember the first time I heard about Reiki, I wasn’t sure whether it actually existed as I couldn’t see it. But then I underwent some treatments and experienced something, saw the changes and felt the shift.
Every person will have a different experience with Reiki. There is no right or wrong, the energy will always go where it needs to go.
Reiki is becoming more popular and many people are starting to use it to further enhance their lives. So if you want to book into a treatment, have a look online as there might be a qualified reiki practitioner in your area.
Also, I would like to add, that although Reiki has AMAZING benefits and can be an incredible shortcut to a real energy boost, I also want to note the importance of making sustainable changes to all other parts of life – keeping the body, mind and spirit all healthy so that Reiki can be a complimentary treatment to the rest of the lifestyle.
